Urgent Medication Requests
Important Notice: Prescription Requests
We are working to reduce the number of same-day prescription requests.
Processing prescriptions urgently creates significant additional work for the duty doctor and, in most cases, these are not a clinical priority.
Please remember:
- It is your responsibility to order medications in good time.
- Unless your medication is on the urgent prescriptions list, it will be processed within 48 hours and sent to your nominated pharmacy.
- This policy has been agreed by the GP partners: if the medication is not critical, it will be processed in the usual timeframe.
If you believe you have an urgent concern, please speak to a receptionist who will liaise with our prescriptions team.
